Our Story
Almost 3 years ago fate and a few mouse clicks brought Denise Tavarez and Michael Cerbelli together. They went from complete strangers to inseparable love birds. This is how it all began...
2006 she packed her bags said farewell to the West Coast and hello NYC. 2008, with a new job on Wall Street and the need for additional space she went from a studio in Astoria to a townhouse in New Jersey. Michael all along lived 8 miles away.
They continued to live their separate lives. He as an acclaimed Event Producer traveling the globe and producing some of the most innovative entertainment events. She working her 8-5 and some evenings and weekends doing what she loves best ~ makeup for weddings, print publications and celebrities.
They barely had time to eat (let alone date) with their crazy schedules. But they both wanted to meet someone special, but couldn’t figure out how to make it happen.
November 2012 they both had friends convince them to join Match.com. She posted her profile and was barraged by a boatload of d-bags. It seemed like match.com would turn out to be another dead end. He caved in and joined Match.com and was swarmed with emails and proposals (not marriage-lol) in a matter of days.
December 2, 2012 he stumbled across her profile and made the first move. He sent her a ‘wink’.
After a few messages and phone calls he invited her to meet for drinks.
December 12, 2012 they met for their very first date. Sparks flew! She was relieved that he looked like the photo on his profile. He was completely smitten and she knew she’d marry him some day.
It was exciting and new, but they also knew it was something special. In a few months they were head over heels for one another.
2013 she met his children and knew at that moment it was meant to be! She saw what a sweet and caring father he was and her heart melted.
December 2014, the ring and the plan fell into place. While working on his ‘Hot List” he had an epiphany and decided he would surprise her at the end of his show by proposing to her.
January 8, 2015…he surprised her by calling her on stage at the end of his show. He got down on one knee and took out the ring and said ‘Will you marry me’ and she said ‘Yes’.
